Fresh water stream, blooming lotus flowers, connecting bridge to Dumulmeori made from old wooden boats and red poppy flowers field – Semiwon Garden has it all

Semiwon Garden is located at the confluence of Bukhangang River and Namhangang River, about 40 km eastbound from Seoul City Center. It is a beautiful and fresh garden full of ponds and greenery. A very relaxing place where you can admire hundreds of blooming lotus flowers, cool off your feet in the fresh stream and take beautiful pictures of red and pink poppy flowers.

Don’t forget to walk on the bridge of wooden boats connecting to the Dumulmeori garden on the main island known for the three 400-year-old Zelkova trees that appear as one giant tree. Greenhouses, walking paths, nice panorama at the river can be enjoyed there while traditional boats gently floating provide a natural set for splendid snapshot compositions.

Semiwon and Dumulmeori gardens are located under the busy road n. 6 which provides an easy access but can be a little bit noisy depending on traffic. However, you can spend a wonderful time in the middle of the nature and just 40 minutes of drive from the city.

Lotus flowers will be at their best in the summer months (July-August), but the gardens are open all-year round with various seasonal flowers or just to enjoy the scenery.
