Yangju Snow Festival… wishing winter would last forever

Mountains of snow, igloos, snowballs fighting, two sledding slopes and many other winter activities – head to Yangju Snow Festival and spend a great day full of fun in a beautiful and natural environment !

Yangju Snow Festival

Last weekend we decided to check the Yangju Snow Festival. Even though all the installations will be fully operating from January 17th, we’ve been very happy to enjoy the pre-opening atmosphere without the crowd. The festival is located in Yangju Art Valley – about 40 kilometers north of Seoul and only 40 minutes of drive from the city center. Surrounded by mountains without any big buildings at sight, the Yangju Art Valley is settled in a beautiful and pristine natural scenery. We’ve been welcomed by pine-trees covered with snow and could feel immediately the real winter atmosphere.

The festival already kicked off since late December with most of the major attractions. More than enough already to have so much fun. You can check some pictures from our favorite activities –  two sledding slopes (one for little kids only and one for adults and kids above 120cm), ice carved slope, snow mountain, fishing, old-fashioned candy making…

We’ll definitely come back when the festival will be operating completely. By then, we expect even more snow-covered trees and extra fun winter activities. See you there!
