Featured in many Korean dramas, Byeokchoji Botanical Garden near Paju combines in a perfect harmony Korean and Western-style gardens
If you are visiting the Paju area, don’t miss this amazing garden, located 15 km east of the city of Paju – about 1 hour drive away from Seoul. Even if we visited in winter time, we’ve been amazed by its variety and beauty. It’s a perfect place for peaceful walks and relaxation with many different theme corners and walkways. Beside the Queen’s Garden right after the entrance, you will find a picturesque central pond with its wooden bridges, a wide grass square or a maple trees alley. Last but not least, after passing a Castle Gate, you will discover a large European-style garden with many sculptures and fountains – amazingly enlightened at night.
Although the garden wasn’t blooming at all in winter, we really had a great time walking under the pines and around the pond while admiring the beauty of the nature.
