Jade Garden

European style garden settled in a beautiful valley just a few kilometers away from Nami Island or Elysian Ski resort

Jade Garden is a wonderful place to spend a half day if you are in Chuncheon area. Even if not so famous as the Garden of Morning Calm, the Jade Garden became also quite popular lately as it has been chosen for several Korean drama shootings.

The garden is a very nice and quiet place located just beside the Jade Palace Golf Club. There are various themed gardens and areas and you can take 3 different courses to enjoy the beauty of the landscape. You’ll find there many plant species including rhododendrons, maple trees, irises, and blueberry bushes as well as patches of thick, natural forests. We’ve been lucky to visit just in time for cherry and magnolia blossoms.

If you need a rest, take a coffee or tea in one of the cottages in brick or have a delicious lunch in the restaurant In the Garden (right after the entrance).IMG_0006IMG_0009

We had a wonderful time enjoying beautiful colors and views of the surrounding mountains. The highlights for our kids probably were running over the suspended wooden bridges, looking at the beautiful waterfall or admiring the impressive splashing fountain.

Incheon Grand Park surrounded by the mountains is a vast green area located mid-way between Incheon Airport and Seoul. There is plenty of activities to do for everyone. Beside many different themes gardens (Rock, Rose, Sculpture, Wild Plant garden), you’ll find there also a forest area, a wetland, an arboretum and a wild flower field. The park is also a place for many seasonal events and festivals including cherry blossom festivals, sledding, rose festivals or outdoor concerts.

The kids will definitely love the Children’s zoo located close to the southern entrance gate to the park. And if you would like to bring your bicycle or rent one, the park is really big enough to ride around and explore different areas.
