Beautiful Buddhist Temple in Gangnam-gu just across the street from the COEX Mall
Bongeunsa temple – one of the major and the most traditional Buddhist temples of Korea worth definitely the visit. And I can’t recommend the best period for visit as in May, when all the flowers and trees are blooming and all the temple area is getting ready for Buddha’s Birthday holiday and the traditional lantern exhibition.
Take a walk in this inspiring and peaceful complex while admiring all the shrines, pagoda, paintings, giant stone and painted figures… If you have a chance to visit in this month, all the area is even more beautiful and magic decorated with thousands of colorful lanterns. 
All the temple buildings are settled in a beautiful and hilly green area and for the delight of our two children we’ve been surprised to find the huge garden with its natural forest trail just behind the temple.
How to get there:
- Samseong station -line 2 exit 6. Head straight along side COEX Mall for about 8 minutes and turn left at the first main road. Walk straight for 1 minute and Bongeunsa will be on the left.
- Cheongdam station – line 7 exit 2. Head straight and Bongeunsa Temple will be on your right.
